Types of WCs installed
Weber & Fils installs every type of toilet on the Luxembourg market:
• Classic floor-standing WC with horizontal or vertical evacuation, the most common solution in renovations.
• Wall-hung WC with frame (Geberit Duofix, Grohe Rapid SL, Villeroy & Boch ViConnect) for a clean, contemporary look.
• Rimless WC — better hygiene, easier cleaning, no hidden corners where limescale builds up.
• Accessible WC (PRM) — adapted height, support bars, dedicated layout for reduced mobility.
• Macerator WC (Sanibroyeur) for installations without gravity drainage (basement, garage, extension).
Replacing an old WC
The replacement of a worn or outdated WC follows a precise sequence: removal of the old appliance, inspection of the drainage connection, adaptation if necessary (changing horizontal ↔ vertical, adjusting the diameter, adding a flexible connector), installation of the new WC, cold water connection, tightness test, cleaning of the worksite, removal of the old equipment.
Weber & Fils handles the entire chain — including disposal of the old WC at an approved recycling centre.
Wall-hung WC: frame and installation
Installing a wall-hung WC is more involved than a floor-standing model. Steps: fixing the metal frame in the partition (load-bearing or stud wall), connecting it to the drainage network, installing the embedded cistern, finishing (plasterboard, tiling), fitting the bowl and the flush plate.
Reference brands in Luxembourg: Geberit (Duofix), Grohe (Rapid SL), Villeroy & Boch (ViConnect). Weber & Fils works with all three. The frame must support up to 400 kg and is positioned to within a millimetre to guarantee perfect alignment of the bowl.
Indicative pricing
The price depends on the type of WC (floor-standing, wall-hung, rimless, accessible, macerator), the brand, the context (like-for-like replacement, new installation with frame, drainage modification) and the finish. An on-site visit is needed to draw up a precise quote. 17 % Luxembourg VAT applied separately. No hidden charges.

FAQ
How long does it take to install a WC?
2 to 4 hours for a like-for-like replacement of a floor-standing WC. 1 day for a wall-hung WC with new frame (excluding finishing). 2 to 3 days for full installation with drainage modification and tiling.
Can a floor-standing WC be replaced by a wall-hung one?
Yes, but it requires changes to the wall (recessing the frame), the drainage (lowering and offsetting the connection) and the finishing (tiling). Plan a budget of 1,500 to 3,000 € incl. VAT for the operation. Weber & Fils carries it out turnkey.
Do you need to redo the tiling to install a wall-hung WC?
Yes in most cases. The frame is recessed in a stud wall (plasterboard) which then needs tiling. If the existing tiling has to be partially preserved, Weber & Fils coordinates with a tiler to achieve a clean junction.
Which WC for a small bathroom?
A wall-hung WC visually frees the floor and makes cleaning easier. A compact projection bowl (48-50 cm) suits tight rooms. Avoid a macerator if a gravity outlet is available — a classic WC is more reliable.
Do you install macerator WCs (Sanibroyeur)?
Yes, in installations without gravity drainage (basement, garage, extension on a slab). Recommended brands: SFA, Saniflo. Important: a macerator requires annual maintenance and tolerates only toilet paper (no wipes, sanitary items or food residues).
Is a rimless WC really more hygienic?
Yes. The absence of an inner rim removes the inaccessible area where limescale, urine and bacteria build up. Cleaning is faster and more efficient. The flush is differently designed (lateral propulsion) for equivalent or better cleaning.
Do you intervene in co-ownerships for WC replacement?
Yes. Weber & Fils intervenes in apartments and co-owned buildings, with co-ordination of access, lift, communal areas. The work is generally completed in half a day to one day, with no impact on the rest of the building.
Is a permit required to install a WC in Luxembourg?
No for a like-for-like replacement or installation of a WC in a planned bathroom. Yes if you create a new sanitary room (drainage modification, change of layout) — a building permit may be required from the municipality. Weber & Fils advises on the appropriate process.
